Forrest is a true believer or ladder climber. He is one of those people you may have worked with who support all the stupid decisions and policies laid down by the company and will even go against others and his own best interests because they believe they can climb that ladder some more.
He could have had more serious things happen to him but at that stage for me anyway the story line had become really boring and I was happy to see it over with. But it might have been nice to see him get treated the same way that he treated the other supernatural oddities he was bringing in.
