pretty big gap in quality from original to remake there which is probably the largest gap between a original and a remake for me most likely.

I had no idea that was a remake. IMDb confirms it, though, but doesn't list the original foreign one. Was it any good? Who was in it?

it's Infernal Affairs (2002) but that movie is forgettable simply because it's cast don't have the screen presence that The Departed (2006) does. i think that's pretty much the bottom line.

The Departed (2006) - 7/10 (within my Top 199 movies)
Infernal Affairs (2002) - 5/10 (Thumbs Down)

I have 400 movies I rate 8/10 or higher and another 300 that I rate 7.5/10. I thought I was picky LOL.
