Pure nostalgia, but surprisingly watched it a year or two back and it remained good fun because of its well-rounded dynamics. No CGI here. But one thing I did forget, was just how dark and confronting it can be, compared to the lighter and overproduced follow-ups. It did make me go and check out the graphic novels. Wasn't it at one stage the highest grossing independent movie. As a kid, I grew up with "He-Man: Masters of the Universe" and then I moved onto "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". They also were the first two films I ever saw at the cinemas. So they definitely (both the cartoon & films) hold a special place in my heart. Turtles were the biggest thing in the newer wave of toys. In the 80s, it was G.I. Joe, MOTU, and Transformers. They declined in popularity and then came the Turtles. I am a little behind, but IDW has some very good comics.
