You know what? Scorsese is of my top 3 directors also and i love most of his movies. i don't consider Departed a top 10 film from his filmography. Granted i also love asian cinema, that helped me like the original also

See, I am not that big on Asian cinema. I like it but I don't love it.

I just think The Departed is one of the most entertaining movies ever made and is endlessly quotable featuring a great cast at the top of their game. I also love the humor in the film. It almost feels like a cop/gangster comic book or something.

The Departed is definitely top 10 Scorsese for me. Probably #8.
