I don't mind when alternate lines of canon(?) are produced like Superman Returns after S2, & Halloween 2018 because I've always despised every Halloween sequel.
Those films aren't asking us to delete the past, they're merely being made as retconned canon alternatives, in lieu of completely starting over.
