Wendig was never employed to work on any "Star Wars movies." He was hired by LFL to write a(n objectively shitty and widely despised) book trilogy in their abysmal attempt to replace the EU. After that, he was hired by Marvel -- who, through Disney, has the current license to publish Star Wars comic books -- to write a five-issue series about some shit or another, but the House of Ideas evidently discovered what an absolute and utter prick he was on social media and axed him halfway through said run, thereby destroying Planet Druidia and saving Planet Spaceball.
