I'd like to hear about career turnarounds from any era. Also, smart career reinventions, like Shatner's smart "in on the joke" things he's done with the snark directed at his acting style and singing efforts.

Good call on Travolta, BTW. I hadn't thought of him.

I'd be especially interested in hearing about women who have been able to do this. It seems harder for them than for men after their youth has faded.
