Ha Ha! I never thought Gene Hackman was all that when I was younger, but in the past few years, I have begun to look at him with a certain amount of lust. He is utterly masculine. And his face has a kind of plain handsomeness to it. And he also exudes mucho libido. I think this was around the time I first saw "Scarecrow", 1973 with Hackman and Al Pacino. Have you seen this movie, Toasted Cheese? I liked it quite a bit. It ventured some of the same territory as "Midnight Cowboy", though not with the same emotional impact. But Al was cute cute cute in it, and then there was Gene, who was handsome in that Popeye Doyle kind of way. I was absolutely torn as to which brand of "maleness" I preferred. Gene does an impromptu striptease in it that is funny and very sexy.
