Well, while it's amusing - and probably contains more than an element of truth to it - at the end of the day it's still a piece of forty year-old gossip.

So I'll bear it in mind if I ever come across further stories or tales that back it up.

But at this stage, I'm not yet ready to consider it holy gospel.

But, the thing is, this is not the only instance. (And, yes, the story was amusing. Most bitch-diva stories are highly amusing.) There are so many stories where she doesn't come off badly, including interviews and even her own 1970 musical showcase spectacle, "Raquel", where it's just lots of bad vibes. I don't really care. She's harmless and I do enjoy watching her and Tom Jones hump each other when they're sharing the stage (re: her special, "Raquel".)
