Given enough time and steady advancement in our scientific and technological research and development, I believe it's most likely inevitable that we'll move beyond Earth into the solar system and then eventually, beyond the solar system into the galaxy.
As long as we don't fall victim to some sort of artificial or natural extinction level event in the short term.
