The first X-Men's so safe though, so colorless. It's almost boring, save for some decent performances and a terrific discovery in Hugh Jackman. The action figure commercial approach might have even worked better. It's not bad, it's just safe. It shot for the middle and that's exactly where it landed.
The MCU could have never existed and I'd still find the X-Men movies underwhelming, save for First Class and Days of Future Past (the latter taking me a long time to come around to). And the Deadpool movies if they count. But I've been finding the X-Men movies underwhelming since 2000 and the MCU didn't exist for another 8-9 years yet.
only children are obsessed with colours. its a right of passage. as a kid your parents and teachers buy you many colourful crayons and pens but as you get older and enter high school and college you realize you can and should only write with blue or black pen.
most mcu fans find xmen films underwhelming , its a reflex action of them knowing mcu movies are trash. so they hate the non trashy marvel movies that made people think.
So you hate films from Pixar. Thought so.
