Oh yeah don't get me wrong Cicada can go wrong so easily, that's also part of the shows problem is they drag things out, for me I would love if they did what AOS has been doing in recent seasons and breaking the seasons down into multiple arcs, this is why I think a rogues season could be great do 4-5 mlti episode arcs with a filler episode separating them for a cool off period with earch arc focusing on a separate rogue, make them 2-4 episodes long so if we got 5 arcs it would be 15 episodes of arcs, 5 epiosdes of filler then the final episodes bring back the rogues for the end of season team up where they team up, that way no one villain gets tired, Cicada could do this also, do 6-8 episodes on him at the start of the season let him then either be "defeated" or just vanish which Nora says he does in her timeline, then bring him back at the end of the season more dangerous than ever revealing they almost did beat him and now you just set it up for the final showdown, and you don't hint or tease it that he's coming back after they "beat" him so when he does return it is more an oh shit moment for the show.
I get where you are coming from with my Ralph & Frost hook up idea, thing is to me when Caitlyn gets her back Frost shouldn't be a disassociated personality anymore, it should clearly be Caitlyn still but it's Caitlyn unrestrained, so it's not a she doesn't remember this or that but that it is just the morning after regret I think a lot of us probably have had after one or ten too many, which is also what plays into why Frost sleeps with him, she remembers all the help Ralph gave her and how much he cares but where as Caitlyn appreciates it but wants to keep their friendship clean Frost is the one who acts on impulse, and they set up in Ralph's first appearance she and Iris find him handsome iirc, so to Frost he's a handsome guy who likes her and who she likes who went above and beyond to help her, and because she doesn't worry about repercussions like regular Caitlyn she boinks him, so it takes that icky part out of it, and if you make Frost the aggressor and Ralph the one trying to hold her back it takes away from Ralph taking advantage of the situation, it can be done in the gross way I get, my thinking is make it purely for comedy but then I guess these writers don't have the best track record and it could easily turn icky so probably best not to try it, I just want to be clear I didn't mean it to be like Caitlyn woke up and it be like she got roofied or anything, but more the drunken one night stand she was into whilst drunk but regrets once sober.
As for Well's again I get that I kind of hope he isn't a fraud that's a little too much like S3, the accent can be put on, he can be a part con man I don't mind that, but he should still be a great detective, yeah the masters of the multiverse thing is annoying, especially with Harry last seasons because it was like wait S2 he knew nothing more than the others in Star Labs in S4 he knows everything including the existence of Earth X, it was like WTF where did this knowledge come from all of a sudden? also they play it way too fast and loose with the multiverse thing, they set it up so there is only 53 universes so making it that everyone from other universes except Kara's are experts on it make everyone else seem really dumb imo unless they intend to expand the multiverse beyond that number to reinstall some awe to the concept they need to quit making it so meaningless imo.
And yeah I know Cavanaugh loves playing new characters every season but at the same time the Well's aren't always a hit and making them all such caricatures and killing them off every season just becomes dull, also seeing how they lose one every year why keep inviting new ones in that they grow to care about only to watch them die or leave 6 months later, also why are they fine without one for 6 months then the exact same time every year they need a new one? the formula is too formulaic and obvious at this point they need to switch it up a bit...
