It would be funny and sad if MCU’s only Academy award

Since you hold Superman:The Movie in such high regard, that’s quite the compliment!

What’s remarkable is how the S:TM series immediately descended into camp/crap territory while the MCU has been able to maintain a high standard for so long. We have Kevin Feige to thank for that. 

If only Kevin Feige had been in charge of the original Superman series. We’d have got a true superhero Renaissance back in the ‘70s & ‘80s, instead of a one hit wonder followed by some of the worse superhero drek to ever grace the big screen ... which, in turn, poisoned the superhero movie landscape for a decade. The damage the original Superman series did to the genre is incalculable.

Without the proper guidance, these things tend to run off the rails after a couple movies.
