Some thoughts:
1. Its definitely reminiscent of Riverdale. And in a good way. The production value is high.
2. Sabrina is hot hot hot. The side boob shot in the first episode...oh my god. 😍
3. I like the boyfriend. Ross Lynch is super talented and I'm already looking forward to the inevitable song and dance routines.
4. I like that they're embracing darker elements. I don't know how boundary pushing the show really is, but it feels edgy. It's creepy and dark at times and I dig it.
Also, am i the only one bothered they seem to be ACTUAL Satan worshipers and presented as in any way likable characters? I am on second episode only but i really dont like that aspect. I dont mind darker turns but actual Satan worshiping presented as a good idea of good seeming persons (like Aunt Hilda for example she seems too kind smart and nice to be a Satan worshiper without knowing its a bad idea) seems wrong. Same with saying Satan is exhibition of free will.
I honestly dont mind Satan themed shows or characters, like I enjoy Lucifer etc, but they present him as clearly a comical representation plus overall he is more good than anything. But here it seems manipulative and too serious. What are your thoughts on that aspects?
PS - I am not religious, i would have the same problem with a Sympathetic yet serious portrait of Hitler. Like I didnt mind Hitler being funny or even somewhat good character in Jay Baruchels Man Seeking Woman but would have a problem with Hitler being portrayed in a serious seeming show where like-able and smart characters are his supporters.
Plenty of good, nice, and smart people worship Satan, and they would argue that Satanism is about free will. For a lot of people, it's a good idea.
I think it's actually a pretty nuanced depiction, especially with Sabrina resisting it as the show progresses. From what I've seen so far anyway.
