"Proposed and pushed for by ABC" means ABC, not the Academy, initiated, brought up, put forth, pushed forward the idea of the Most Popular Movie category. So thanks again for once again proving that I was 100% correct that Disney forced the Academy to create the Most Popular Movie category so Black Panther could get an Oscar nomination and thanks again for proving that MCU fans lack simple reading comprehension.
Actually you aren't, ABC could have pushed for those changes based on declining ratings reduced advertising and high scost of the awards, and that statistically the best Oscar numbers come from years when a major hit like a top 10 hit is majorly represented in the awards, more big movies up for awards the more the casual fans check it out, beause apparently films with a global audience of under 20m doesn't draw in the eyeballs of regular movie fans.
See you make an assumption that oh it cant be business related to ABC's bottom line it must be Disney unhappy with 3 films grossing $4b in a single fiscal year from only one of their studios mandated ABC a broadcast channel and company in it's own right risk it's rep and relationships as to strong arm the academy into creating an award category for their movies which don't require them because they are among the highest grossing films every year and constantly turn a huge profit, because well you know, you are a doofus.
And what you said isn't proof of your theory, just because ABC does something doesn't mean it is order from on high in the Walt Disney Company, you know like how despite Lucasfilm & Marvel Studios being both Disney brands doesn't mean Marvel went out of their way to help Lucasfilm with freeing up shelves for Solo merch, Marvel focused on Marvel shit, Lucasfilm had to make do, sometimes Disney dictates shit like telling ABC you WILL order another season of AOS when they didn't want to last year, but sometimes I enjoy a classic cheese & tomato pizza with nothing else, just because I enjoy that doesn't mean I am a vegetarian, just because I eat the occasional meal without meat doesn't mean I always do, you follow me here slop for brains?
