No pretty sure higher box office numbers, the highest box offices of all cbm's with IW ousting Avengers for the highest gross and being the first cbm to break $2b means they raised the bar in terms of monetary success potential that a cbm can potentially reach.
Learn how to read and how to comprehend what the actual words actually mean you fucking simpleton.
Box office doesn't set the bar. It's ratings that set the bar. Both critics and general audience have rated The Dark Knight not only the best CBM of all time but also 1 of the best movies (CBM or non-CBM) of all time. Nothing MCU has ever made even comes close to that. Avengers, IW, and MCU have definitely lowered the bar for CBMs. No but exceeding the prior top earner reaches a new benchmark for the genre in terms of potential box office capabilities ie setting the bar for what the genre can earn, see raising the bar is a term that can be applied to multiple fields, Superman set the bar for ALL cbm's back in the day because it was the first of it's kinda so it set the limits in terms of box office, critical response, award attention, fan response, then other films came and redefined those parameters they raised the bar for all those things which have all been raised in the last decade by one film or another, it's not a temr that only applies to what you think it applies to.
And no the MCU didn't lower the fucking bar you idiot the MCU films there is no MCU film so bad it's good or so bad you just have to watch because you wont believe it unless you see it, there are cbm's that have been that, there for the MCU couldn't have lowered the bar dingbat.
