Let me tell you one thing I'd like to see more of in new movies:

Plots that do not require you to know who people are from having either memorized a book or seen previous films.

Films not based on previous films.

Films where nothing and nobody gets blown up.

Films with characters the viewer can like because they are likeable .. not only because they are able to defeat the bad-guy.
