Someone who takes an intro Geo class in college, and thinks 'So all a geologist does is go camping and drink beer? I could do this for a living!'
I got to do none in a 36 year career as one. Most of us went into this "field" of study thinking it would be different.
That seems to be the case. I’ve done minor amounts of field work, but nowhere near as much as I had hoped.
