It certainly sounds much better and a lot nicer than whatever Halloween has been turned into by big business. Check out the link to Wikipedia I added to my post; they do a better job of explaining it all, and there is no commercialized aspect to it, it is simply about remembering the dead. I light candles and spend part of the time fixing food my dad loved, and watching movies my husband loved, and remembering cherished pets. That sounds lovely. Every year on my father's birthday I buy a six pack of Budweiser, his brand. I poor one out for him and drink the rest. Well, I split the rest. 2-3 is my limit. I'm not a big drinker and kind of a lightweight. I was excited for Halloween, but my granddaughter is now going with her father. I was going to take her Trick or Treating. Much disappoint.
