I've literally never seen any of these films! Thanks for the recommendations. Are they accessible in the US? i.e. can you get Region 1 copies (non-PAL). Or are their any other sources online? I saw Ha-Ushpizin (The Uninvited Guests) / Giddi Dar (2004) Vals Im Bashir (Waltz With Bashir) / Ari Folman The Debt / Assaf Bernstein (2007) Hearat Shulayim (Footnote) / Joseph Cedar (2011) Lemale Et Ha'halal (Fill The Void) / Rama Burshtein (2012) Zanabu Barayé Masti Asbga (A Time For Drunken Horses) / Bahman Ghobadi (2000) Jodaeiye Nader Az Simin (A Separation) / Asghar Farhadi (2011) on DVD via Netflix so they were once available in the U.S. of A. The others: Bikur Ha-Tizmoret (The Band’s Visit) / Eran Kolirin (2007) Baran / Majid Majidi (2001) Talaye Sorkh (Crimson Gold) / Jafar Panahi (2003) Darbareye Elly (About Elly) / Asghar Farhadi (2009) Paradise Now / Hany Abu-Assad (2005) Theeb / Naji Abu Nowar (2014) I saw in theaters in Dallas and Santa Fe. The Debt was remade in Hollywood in 2010 with Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain. Theeb was the first film from Jordan to be Oscar nominated for Best Foreign Film The Band’s Visit has been made into a musical and, I think, is playing in NYC now. Good luck finding them. I think they were all very good films.
