Nobody really thought they did. Pairing Gruden with the best pass rusher in the NFL and a young QB who was showing great potential seemed to be the whole point. Everyone other than Gruden thought they had a pretty solid roster.

You're right. Ego took over. He wanted to build his own team from the ground up. Other coaches would have relished the opportunity that he blew up.

I'd be surprised if Carr was there much longer.

I think Carr gets traded in the offseason and Gruden signs Fitzmagic to be the 1 year placeholder at QB until he gets the #1 pick in 2020 and drafts Tua.
