Day is the obvious choice for most people. I am confident most people would choose day over night if it was permanently one or the other because it's the all around better choice pretty clearly.
but just to list a couple of negative things about night off the top of my head...
-Crime (criminals generally act up at dark)
-Can't really do much outside without light.
