I think he tried for a UK accent in DRAGONHEART as well but then gave up.

John Lithgow's British accent also was all over the place in CLIFFHANGER.

But I have to defend Angelina Jolie's accent in ALEXANDER. It is weird but she was trying to do an ancient Greek accent--and apparently they do have that Bulgarian kind of sound.

In fact, the chanting in the Xena theme song is a Bulgarian chorus.
