For day - something more light and fresh ( and a lighter version especially in hot and humid weather) -- like Diorissimo or Diorella or new ones that have come out.
For evening -- something more heady -- like 1000 ( Patou) which unfortunately may no longer be manufactured because of the lack of a key ingredient from China, or CHANEL # 5, or other classical ones.
But nothing beats the smell of fresh flowers like Lily of the Valley ( the base for Diorissimo and Lily) or rose ( the base for some classic perfumes like the heady JOY.
