help me decorate my first American Christmas. I wanna go all Martin Crane on it

If you are ever into auctions, and I don't know how common they are where you are, those can be places to pick up tons of Christmas stuff from estates or downsizing. Sometimes it is pretty kitschy, sometimes there are some fine and expensive things mixed in. This time of year it is more expensive, as others will be looking for the same things. It should still be going for quite a bit less than retail. Then of course there is Goodwill or other donation centers.

Lights are cheap new, so just go with those from Home Depot, Target or wherever, as old ones are often a pain to make work.
