I’m happy Luke didn’t actually aim to kill Kylo Ren. But Rey’s right: if Luke didn’t give up on Darth Vader, who [I’d guess] killed far more people than Kylo Red has, then how on earth would he give up on someone who hadn’t killed anyone at that point?
