Dude, it's the same statue and they won it. The fact still remains that in spite of what the critics said about these films, they still delivered in popularity. $747 million nor $874 million are nothing to shake a stick at.
People liked it and to this day, you still see folks cos-playing characters from these films.
Okay, but that's not really an excuse to make a bad movie. They like the characters, doesn't mean they particularly like the movie. You have a shit story but still have cool or interesting characters that people like. What is and what is not a bad movie is subjective. What is important to a studio is to make a movie that (as many) people (as possible) will go see and they did that. In fact, they are still reaping the benefits from making those films. Just think about it. How can people like something that is bad. The pictures show that people liked these movies.
