They don't need to get rid of Cano at all. Yeah, they do. The contract is insane. he will have the Roid issue hanging over his head forever (see Braun, Ryan for example). And he's reported to be clubhouse cancer? Why did the Yankees make no effort to resign a middle IF who hit 27 HR, 107 RBI and .314? Why was the Mariners best 80 game stretch the 80 game stretch when Cano was at home playing with himself? Cano is popular in the Clubhouse and a leader. It was when he was away last year that the clubhouse started having problems. Gordon and Segura did not get along. Cruz and Gordon were also suspended for steroids yet the Mariners acquired them. Cano is still highly productive. There has been no decline yet. AND for the last 30 games of his suspension, the Mariners were playing true worst baseball of the season.
