Yeah, well, I couldn't heel hook to save my life.
For expedition and ice, I have a pair of old-school Scarpa Invernos. Really heavy, but warm and stable.
My heels aren't the problem, it's my calfs. Old rugby injuries mean they feel like they're going to snap like rubber bands every time I put a little bit of pressure on a heel hook.
Would love to do some ice climbing, need to travel out of the UK and find somewhere good for beginners.
