At least computerized Pete seems duly evil! I was going to say I’d like a Grand Moff Tarkin backstory–I’m interested in how this old military guy got to be this loyal to the Empire–but I don’t want any more digital Peter Cushing Frankenstein Monster. Young Tarkin is featured in the Clone Wars animated series. I like Rogue One. As I’ve said elsewhere, it’s basically what you’d get if Hemingway wrote a Star Wars movie. Interesting comparison. I’m not sure I would have made it, but it’s fitting, especially in the small scale of the story and the character focus. I like it too so far, but I don’t quite love it. It feels almost too different from the others, as if the director wanted to make a WWII film and just decided to do it in space.
