Young Tarkin is featured in the Clone Wars animated series. I like Rogue One. As I’ve said elsewhere, it’s basically what you’d get if Hemingway wrote a Star Wars movie. Interesting comparison. I’m not sure I would have made it, but it’s fitting, especially in the small scale of the story and the character focus. I like it too so far, but I don’t quite love it. It feels almost too different from the others, as if the director wanted to make a WWII film and just decided to do it in space. It's essentially For Whom the Bell Tolls, with 15% of the plot of A New Hope shoehorned in. ETA: the sort of pacing/cadence of the film is most comparable to like an Expanded Universe novel from the late-90s. They all kind of have a similarly pulpy feel.
