But anything tied to satan is not a legitimate religion and opposes Christianity which the USA is largely based around for a long time now. Christianity is proven good and everyone knows satan is bad so naturally society should reject anything tied to satan by default.

That's kinda the point, things like these typically happen as a reaction against people whining about "religious freedom" and being able to plaster the 10 commandments on public property. When confronted with something like this, suddenly their cries of religious freedom go out the window and their hypocrisy becomes apparent. They have no one to blame but themselves.
