Loved the movie back then, but was very disappointed with the first sequel as it felt rushed, but loved the third part with it's western conclution. Seeing them again a few years ago, I still think the same. Loved the Etta James and Patti Page songs too by the way! I agree, the second one is my least favorite by a wide margin. The basic story is fine, but it does feel very rushed. I know part 2 and 3 were filmed back to back and I think it shows. Much more time was seemingly spent on making part 3 great. I agree with both of you. There's a cynical cash-grab going on that leaves a bad taste in my mouth whenever I watch part 2. Part 3 is a sweet slice of nostalgia that restores the franchise's likeability.
