No, not “the government,” especially under Truman. Just the FBI. I edited my post to go more in detail above, but Hoover thought everything was communist propaganda. So what?

I know what socialism is. The movie tells us that we should be moral and virtuous, including in our businesses. I hope everyone would agree with that. Some fat-cat capitalists obviously wouldn’t. Some far-left socialists wouldn’t either, believing morality and virtue to be bourgeois plots to oppress the proletariat. None of it means that the movie is anti-capitalist or pro-socialist.
