While I agree that Gates will be a hall of famer, he’s a tight end, he’s not Randy Moss. I wouldn’t go so far to call him a “weapon”. Semantics perhaps, just my opinion. That's a reeeeeal stretch, but you can say 'hall of fame talent' instead if it makes you feel better. With the possible recent exceptions of Gronk, Ertz, Kelce, and like two seasons worth of Jimmy Graham, what tight end makes or break a game? Tony Gonzalez caught a million balls that added up to jack shit. What impact did Jason Witten have? Gates was a good player but his real impact was minimal.
