lol. Back then, people did talk about why Thurman Munson should be in the Hall because of what he could have accomplished if not for the tragic end. It happens in other sports. Gale Sayers is 143rd in career rushing yards in NFL history. Greg Bell is 142nd - - and Bell scored ten more touchdowns than Sayers. Why is Sayers in? Because of what his career could have been. Freeman McNeil, Stephen Davis, and Garrison Hearst all have more rushing yards than Terrell Davis. Terrell Davis was great for four years and is barely over 1100 yards for the rest of his three seasons combined. You can put up five Shaun Alexander years that match Davis's quality in the four he has, but I bet there isn't a chance in hell Alexander gets in the Hall of Fame. Football HOF is as bad as baseball. Joe Namath isn't a HOFer either, ever look at his stats? It's all the hype. Gale Sayers had a movie about him that makes men cry.
