indeed, I critizised that in my Aquathread.
One of the (very few) mortal sins of the movie is that they surprisingly play a few pop songs for a few seconds as score (not just background music).
I believe this tone deaf abomination was played when the scene changed to desert shore in act 2 ruining the mood, and I thought that there should be a cut replacing this with score (which was good and effective).
In the end they just play it for less than 15 sec, this movie is not on Suicide Squad or Guardians level.
