My concern is that I saw one guess that its only estimated to make 65 mill opening weekend here. That all?
So lets say it makes 65 mill here, another 75 mill worldwide (half of its current 152)... add them up... = 292. That's nice, but monster hit it does not equal.
This movie NEEDS to be successful. If it isn't WB will be hard pressed to consider more DCEU movies. They'll blame box office numbers and the characters instead of their own ineptitude for the lower returns of these movies.
Look at the highest grossing American movies in Chinese box office history. They’re all CGI-fests, regardless of quality. And some of them underperformed domestically, so it’s great Aquaman is making money, but 1b$ is not assured despite this early success.
