I do have Penny Serenade (1941) recorded from TCM to see at some point. She and Cary Grant must have been good pals, they've appeared in all three movies I've mentioned here. You really need to see this one, Lebowskidoo. It's my second favorite next to I Remember Mama. It's a drama beautifully directed by George Stevens, who also directed Mama. Of the comedies with Grant I'd also recommend The Awful Truth (1937). I really need to get busy and watch these movies, they've been waiting in the wings for far too long. |
