Once again throughout this year we have had a multitude of interesting Classic Film related thread topics, in response, our friendly discourse has produced a wealth of fascinating information, reviews and film recommendations. Have you a favourite or a not so favourite film that was discovered through thread topic discussions, recommended or found with further research ? .. On the thread... Turning 100 , our good friend teleadm mentioned a couple of Swedish films from 1918. I was most interested especially in the film from Mauritz Stiller who I learnt was a pioneer of the Swedish film industry, and further I discovered, and was somewhat surprised that Stiller had directed a controversial for its time, highly influential romantic comedy Erotikon (1920). Out of print but still available from the other side of the world, the Kino release arrived here yesterday and we watched it last night. WOW what a wonderful Swedish silent film it is, innovative, glorious sets and scenes, scandalous, great performances, great entertainment... Many Thanks to you teleadm !! Hi Planet X, on " Have you a favourite or a not so favourite film that was discovered through thread topic discussions, recommended or found with further research ? .." the title which has to be at the very top of my list is The Ghost Cat of Otama Pond (1960). After starting to take more of an interest in cinema from Asia, your recs from Cat onward have shown me (some) of the very best movies from the region.
