Right? I'd compare it to Thor: Ragnarok myself. It has that same gonzo energy and imagination to it. It makes me wish James Wan directed Justice League instead of either Whedon or Snyder. I'd still put Ragnarok ahead of it. Just way better pacing and more interesting characters in general. But I will put it above the first Thor movie and GotG2. I'd probably rank it above a lot of the middle tier entries like yeah, Guardians 2, the Iron Man sequels or Thor: Dark World, and both Ant-Man movies. And I'll be honest, just the sheer size of that final battle and the build up alone when Orm starts attacking those crab people and Aquaman shows up with his own Kraken plus a tamed Trench army at his disposal , I found myself enjoying it more than Infinity War. |
