not weird. Disney/Marvel only made Gunn apologize and remove the content on his website (ie the homophobic and misogynist comic content). This was not related to the later pedo-themed tweets, pics and videos.

Marvel/Disney apparently had no idea of Gunn's pedophilic and rape tweets and blogs - or they would have made him apologize/remove them too.

Gunn neglegted to disclose this. Respectively, he continued to make pedohilic/weird tweets during his Disney tenure (eg the "Eagle snatches kid is what I call it when I get lucky" tweet). He deleted 10k of them when he got wind that opponents were screensaving them. 

Now he is with WB/DC.

deliberately so, I understand he was a friend of Shane Black and this was no secret. The scene was cut later after the actress complained.
