Here are the ninth overall picks in the MLB draft since 2000:
2000 - Mark Phillips 2001 - Colt Griffin 2002 - Jeff Francis 2003 - John Danks 2004 - Chris Nelson 2005 - Mike Pelfrey 2006 - Bill Rowell 2007 - Jarrod Parker 2008 - Aaron Crow 2009 - Jacob Turner 2010 - Karsten Whitson 2011 - Javier Baez 2012 - Andrew Heaney 2013 - Austin Meadows 2014 - Jeff Hoffman 2015 - Ian Happ 2016 - Matt Manning 2017 - Keston Hiura
Baez is the only one who ever was an All-Star (obviously a lot of these guys are young and have chances). Young top ten picks in the MLB flame out often. You can make a great earning by being a back-up QB in the NFL. With Justin Herbert going back to college, he'd probably be a day two pick at worst. With the way that the NFL gives all the advantages to the offense, it's never been a better time to go in as a quarterback.
