Cutthroat Island bombed at the BO didn't it? Haven't seen it (though it does seem like the kind of movie I'd like--I love pirate and adventure movies), but, from what I've heard, yes, it's apparently one of the worst box office bombs of all time. That does not, of course, say anything pro or con for the quality of the film. Replying to that last sentence it's usually the bad movies that make huge money (Michael Bay anyone?)and the great movies that do poorly at the BO. Cutthroat Island is a bit better than it's rep suggests but it isn't a good movie by any stretch of the imagination imo. It's fine for a once off on TV or something. |
