They seriously argue that the reason my mother died of cancer last year is that six thousand years ago two people ate a piece of fruit that they were told not to.
All that fruit story is... is an attempt to explain why that bad shit happens...
What is an alternate view? "Nature just naturally makes cancer to kill people"?
Get mad at nature... Get mad at cancer. Did she smoke? Eat a lot of processed foods? Get mad at corporations that put profits over human life.
The Bible suggesting that God has taken away His guidance and control over Man and Earth in some attempt to prove that we are not better off without that said guidance and control is not something that you should be this whiney about.
It's either just a made up story... or a real demonstration.
Hell.. At least if it's real, you get your mom back.
