What would be after that? Steven Seagal working with Martin Scorsese? Arnie still the charisma and likeability factor, something Seagal has never possessed. Still, I can picture him in Casino showing what they do to cheaters. *Snaps guy's arm in half* "Now you're gonna to have learn to shuffle with your other hand." Yeah exactly. Arnold was never a great actor, but he had something Seagal, Van Damme, Norris and the other action heroes of the time lacked: charisma and likeability. He made you care about the characters he portrayed and he had chemistry with his co-stars. See: his macho camaraderie with the squad in Predator, bonding with the kids in Kindergarten Cop, his relationships with his leading ladies in Total Recall, being a protector to the Conners in Terminator 2 and finally his interactions with everyone in True Lies (be it Tom Arnold, Jamie Lee Curtis or Tia Carerre). Sure, Arnold knew he was the star, but he also gave his co-stars moments to shine and let his directors make their film.
All that said, what if Arnold teamed up with Spielberg? I doubt Spielberg would make a shoot-em-up movie with Arnold when they're both in their 70's, but if Spielberg did some genre movie and cast Arnold in some supporting part that makes use of his presence? Could be interesting to see.
