They are so use to movies being in color and are so close minded that it is extremely off putting to watch a movie that is in black and white.

I think it is that simple.

I've been somewhat guilty of this from time to time. Not so much an aversion to black and white films, but the feeling that I've grown so accustomed to modern films that it's difficult for me to get into classic films I've never seen before.

Luckily, I still love to watch the classics that I watched growing up, which was quite a lot because we always had cable and movie channels.
