I like most of that cast, but as another poster stated, Rod Taylor doesn't really fit. He was co king with Charlton Heston of the ridiculously hateful "cynic" hero characters.
I'd put someone vulnerable looking, like Anthony Perkins, in that role. But a better pick, I think, is BRADFORD DILLMAN
Tempted to go with Poitier on the obvious grounds of color and his role as Mr. Tibbs, but in going with the moderate, calm cool guy, I'm not really sure that's the gigantic Hayden. I'll go with FRANK LOVEJOY
Quite comfortable with your pick for heroine, though URSULA ANDRESS comes to mind first.
Police chief. I'll go with ERNEST BORGNINE
Deranged killer. I really like Widmark better in his "sane" roles. For the "god playing lunatic" I'll go with ORSON WELLES.
