Dream On was a good show, but not particularly memorable. Tales From The Crypt, now there's a show. Yeah, there are some shitty episodes, but overall it's among the top horror serials ever made. Some truly excellent episodes throughout. Deadwood and Carnival are both great and under-appreciated. Dream On was great for the T&A when that stuff wasn't as readily available as a kid. You didn't watch that show for the story. TFTC was great, there are a few episodes I still remember to this day. Ever see the one where the doctor pranked his friend into thinking he (the friend) was dead and performed a fake autopsy on him? Great stuff. I tried to get into Carnival but I never could do it. Deadwood is still greatly appreciated and they're finally going ahead with the film! The Wire has already been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but we can't talk about the greatest shows in HBO history without mentioning Rome. Rome is one I never watched. Not even that I didn't get into it, I just don't think I've ever seen a single minute of it. Heard great things, seemed too expensive to continue. In order to make a show on that scale, you really need it to garner mass appeal, a la Game of Thrones.
