Disney trying to get Avengers cast to host Oscars

Where some see this is Disney trying desperately gain validation for the MCU. Which may be part of the reasoning, I see it mainly as a Network desperately trying not to lose money. Disney is already bleeding money from ESPN. That's why the cost of ESPN to providers keeps going up. They are now starting to bleed money and ratings on ABC.

ABC has no real big event rights anymore. They bet on the Oscars and locked themselves in a 5 year contract. They are on the hook for 4 more years I think. With the massive drop last year, ABC and the Academy is looking for any way to right that ship. The Academy is just as big of a whore for money and ratings as ABC. If ratings drops keep continuing they will be less and less valuable to Hollywood.

I wouldn't be surprised now if they went with all nude cast and presenters for ratings and money. At least that would be more honest. At best the Oscars are on par with strippers, but I think they are more on the lines of prostitutes. May be not the street walking kind. The kind that makes sure you have a nice room and no crabs first.
